Aragorn must embrace his destiny as the king of Gondor and lead the final assault on the Black Gate of Mordor to distract Sauron, giving Frodo a chance to destroy the ring. The film concludes with the destruction of the ring, the fall of Sauron, and the return of peace to Middle-earth.
